EUROPE Complete Drums For New CD
June 19, 2006Reunited Swedish hard rockers EUROPE have commenced the recording sessions for the follow-up to 2004's "Start from the Dark", tentatively due this fall. The band have posted the following studio update on their official web site:
"Yesterday Ian [Haugland] finished recording the last drum track for the new album, with only minor blisters... on his feet! He even got to do a timpani overdub, using the very same tipanies that John Bonham from LED ZEPPELIN played on the intro for 'In the Evening'. Need we say that Ian was thrilled? Right now John Leven is putting down the last couple of bass tracks, and hopefully we'll start with the guitars next week."

As previously reported, EUROPE's acoustic version of "Yesterday's News", recorded during an appearance on the Stockholm, Sweden radio station 106.7 Rockklassiker on December 7, 2005, has been made available for download at this location.
EUROPE entered the Swedish Music DVD chart at position No. 9 in December 2005 with their live DVD, entitled "Live from the Dark". The two-disc set features the group's November 15, 2004 concert at the Hammersmith Apollo in London, England along with video clips, interviews, band information and a section called "Taxi Diaries."
The group's first collection of new material since 1991's "Prisoners In Paradise", "Start from the Dark" (2004) was produced by Kevin Elson, who had previously worked with EUROPE on their multi-platinum 1986 release, "Final Countdown".
